IBEW and United Workers Federal Credit Union is committed to making available financial products and services that will assist our Credit Union members in meeting their financial needs and goals. The volunteers, management, and staff of the Credit Union are also concerned about and respect the privacy of our members’ personal financial information. Protecting this information and using it in a manner consistent with our members’ expectations is required of everyone associated with the Credit Union.

Member Information We Collect

The Credit Union will collect only the personal information that is necessary to verify your identity, conduct your financial business and satisfy regulatory requirements. We will collect information about you from the following sources: information we receive from you on applications or other forms, information about your transactions with us including access of our web site (including e-mail), internet banking services, and information we receive from outside sources such as credit reporting agencies.

Safeguarding Member Information

The Credit Union will take all steps necessary to safeguard the sensitive personal information entrusted to us. As a member of the Credit Union, you also have a responsibility to safeguard your financial information and we are prepared to assist you when necessary. Employees will only have access to member information when they have a business reason for knowing it. The Credit Union will maintain and monitor strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and computers is protected against unauthorized access. You will always have access to your personal information; however, you must be prepared to provide sufficient information to confirm your identity before access will be granted and necessary changes made.

Online Privacy Protections

At our Web site, ibewuwfcu.com, you may communicate with us via email. Generally, our e-mails are not secure. If we ask you for information other than your name, address, e-mail address and phone number, we will provide a secure method through DocuSign for receipt of this information. You can also send us a secure message through Online Banking or Mobile App under Contact Us.  When you visit our website, you can access site information without revealing your personal identity. In order to help us identify you for future site visits, we may use “cookies” to track your visit. A “cookie” is a piece of information that our web server stores on your computer hard drive and retrieves later. The cookie will not request, require, or collect personal identity information and you remain anonymous. Your member information is not accessed by or stored within a cookie in any way.

Protecting Children’s Information Privacy

Our online financial services are not designed for or directed toward children. We do not knowingly solicit or collect data from children, and we do not knowingly market to children online. We recognize that protecting children’s identities and online privacy is important, and that responsibility rests with us and with parents.

Sharing or Disclosing of Member Information

We will only share information when necessary to administer the products and services we provide, when required to do so by the government, or when we partner with other businesses to offer a broader array of products and services. We may disclose your member information with financial service providers and to non-affiliated third parties as permitted by law. The information we may disclose will include information you provide on applications and information about your transactions such as name, address, telephone number, transactional information and deposit or loan account experience. When the Credit Union partners with financial service providers, we choose only those businesses that follow our strict confidentiality requirements and provide products and services designed to enhance our members’ financial well-being. If at any time a member feels that one of these non-affiliated third parties has violated their privacy, the member is encouraged to contact us immediately.

Under no circumstances will IBEW and United Workers Federal Credit Union sell members information to telemarketing firms or any other organization.

We will not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our members and former members to anyone, except as permitted by law.
